Does the project have ethical approval?
The UK project gained UK ethical approval in 2011 and EuCalNet in Germany in February 2006.
Is the project supported by Professional bodies?
Yes – it has the backing of the ERA-EDTA CKD-MBD working group and the UK Renal Association, as well as other German professional bodies (eg GfN, DAGKN, DDnÄ ), dialysis providers (KfH, PHV) and registries (QuaSi-Niere, QiN).
Does the registry recommend any treatment regimens for the disease?
There is currently no evidence base to allow treatment recommendations to be made in general. At present, therapeutic decisions have to be made on an individual basis for each patient. For questions regarding therapy please contact Hansjörg Rothe . We will discuss cases with Prof. Vincent Brandenburg, who is the scientific chair-person of the registry, and offer recommendations.
